What clothing should I wear to visit Mount Etna and what should I bring with me?
Recommended equipment: Layered clothing, as temperatures may drop at higher altitudes, Long pants, Hiking boots for participating in excursions like trekking and e-biking; tennis shoes are fine for other activities, Hat, Backpack, Sunglasses, Sunscreen, Scarf, Water.
Can I visit Mount Etna without a guide?
Yes, you can, although it is not recommended for inexperienced hikers. It is possible to stay at lower altitudes and/or use the Etna Cable Car to ascend as high as possible. To reach higher altitudes and the summit area, you must be accompanied by volcanology guides, according to the issued regulations.
What happens to my reservation if there is bad weather?
It is possible to change your reservation to another day. If it is canceled, there is a possibility of a refund in case of advance payment.
Is it possible to go hiking when Mount Etna is erupting?
